In 2008, DOE outlined a scenario where wind energy could account for 20 percent of America’s total power generation portfolio by the year 2030. What does that mean for grid operators and men and women in control centers across the country working to maintain reliability while accommodating such a significant increase in variable energy supply?
During the past 12 months, the groundbreaking project, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (APPA), has examined that question on an unprecedented scale. Researchers gathered data and on-the-ground insights from 33 grid operators in 18 countries. Their work examined best practices established during the integration of more than 194 gigawatts of wind power that is online worldwide.

Join this webcast and be the first to know what was uncovered in a landmark U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sponsored report that explores the future and challenges of integrating new wind power into the grid. In 2008, DOE outlined a scenario where wind energy could account for 20 percent of America’s total power generation portfolio by the year 2030.
Participants will have an opportunity to pose questions during a live, moderated question and answer period.
