Petra Solar demonstrates GridWave technology at DistribuTECH

San Antonio, January 26, 2012 — Petra Solar, a New Jersey-based technology company providing smart energy solutions to the electric supply industry, demonstrated its GridWave technology during the DistribuTECH conference in San Antonio from January 24-26, 2012.

At DistribuTECH, attendees learned about and viewed demonstrations of the GridWave solutions that were developed by Petra Solar under the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Energy Grid Integration Systems program. The SEGIS initiative was established to foster advancements that maintain or improve power quality and reliability while increasing photovoltaic solar technology's contributions and economic value to the electrical grid.

"We are excited to be showcasing our GridWave technology at DistribuTECH. Petra Solar is at the forefront of advanced grid reliability solutions," said Mary Grikas, VP of Communications at Petra Solar. "We will demonstrate our smart solar platform and GridWave renewable energy technologies for grid stabilization including, voltage regulation through dynamic reactive power management, voltage ride through, and microgrid operation and management."

The GridWave solutions extend the capability of Petra Solar's SunWave smart solar energy offerings with capabilities supporting grid reliability, stability and efficiency. GridWave solutions enable distribution utilities to mitigate grid effects caused by renewable generation intermittency such as sudden over or under voltage conditions.

Demonstrations will be available throughout each day of the conference at booth #197

DistribuTECH is the utility industry's leading smart grid conference and exposition, addressing relevant topics such as automation and control systems, energy efficiency, demand response, renewable energy integration, advanced metering, T&D system operation and reliability, power delivery equipment and water utility technology.
