Trilliant, KORE Telematics join on cellular meter reading technology

San Diego, February 2, 2011 — Trilliant, a smart grid communications provider, and KORE Telematics, a digital wireless services provider, announced a partnership wherein KORE and Trilliant will collaborate to ensure customers can quickly and cost effectively activate and deploy Trilliant's CellReader and CellGateway meter communication solution across Tier 1 GSM and CDMA networks.

Under the partnership, KORE will also obtain device approvals for the CellReader under its One-Stop Device Accreditation Program.

Trilliant's CellReader solution installs under-the-glass of solid-state C&I electric meters and provides two-way IP based communications over digital cellular networks.

The CellGateway is an external communications device that connects to a variety of C&I electric, gas, and water meters via standard serial communications.

Trilliant has been a provider of digital cellular communication products for remote meter data applications since 2003 and has been providing utilities with metering solutions since 1985.

The CellReader and CellGateway digital cellular communications products complement Trilliant's SecureMesh communications solution, which provide utilities with a private wireless mesh network for multi-tier smart grid applications.

KORE is at the forefront in accelerating and enabling innovations in the M2M products include energy management solutions such as Automated Metering Infrastructure. KORE Telematics offers reliable, cost-effective wireless backhaul solutions for utilities via their carrier-grade, high availability network.

Trilliant customers will also have access to the KORE PRiSMPro portal, an automated control platform for provisioning and control of both GSM and CDMA cellular services. KORE makes it easy to deploy AMI, or any wireless M2M application, in a matter of days.

KORE and Trilliant will be available for comments and questions at booths No. 2408 and No. 827 at DistribuTECH 2011, taking place February 1 – 3 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.
