In my last blog I discussed how tools can be used for multiple purposes. This week I'd like to discuss favorite tools.

We all have one item we can't leave home or the office without. It may be that cup of coffee first thing in the morning (I admit to that one - quite honestly I simply don't feel fully awake until that first sip), or your glasses or chapstick, or... we all have at least one thing.

A phone technician was at the office recently and I asked him what tool he takes with him everywhere and couldn't do without. He said his cable splicers. He explained that they are compact and easy to use, and in his job he always needed them. He kept them with him at all times. In fact, he pulled them from his tool belt just to prove it.

When you're out in the field, what is that one tool you can't live without? The one tool that makes your job easier? Is it something that you have found multiple uses for, or is it a one-job tool that simply makes that one job quick and easy?
