USFilter Electrocatalytic Products Supplies Chloropac System For Petro-Canada

Oil, Gas & Petrochem Equipment

USFilter Electrocatalytic Products has completed installation of a custom Chloropac System for Petro-Canada's Terra Nova Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel anchored off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. The new system replaced an existing chlorination system and treats the lift water to prevent marine fouling in the process cooling water system.

Due to space limitations, which was limited to an area of about 85 square feet, standard skid mounted systems would not fit the requirements. USFilter's Electrocatalytic Products, Union, N.J., successfully met this challenge by providing the compact dual-level Chloropac system, designed with a compact footprint of 6' 6" x 13' and a total capacity of 978 pounds of sodium hypochlorite per day.

In April, a start-up program provided by USFilter Electrocatalytic Products introduced Terra Nova's operating crew to the Chloropac system. Additionally, in June a special hands-on training session was performed for the purpose of training operators not on the vessel during the initial start-up training session.
