Saudi Aramco appoints executive director

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia -- Saudi Aramco has named Khaled A. Al-Buraik executive director of affairs.

Al-Buraik has worked for Saudi Aramco for 21 years, serving in many positions. He joined the company as a petroleum engineer in the drilling and workover engineering division in 1987. He most recently served as chief petroleum engineer from 2005-2008, also serving as executive director of northern area oil operations, executive director of drilling and workover, and executive director of petroleum engineering.

Al-Buraik is on the board of directors for both Saudi Petroleum International Inc. and Sino Saudi Gas Ltd. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineering and the International Association of Drilling Contractors.
