Petrobras takes new spill response approach

NARRAGANSETT, Rhode Island Petrobras has contracted Applied Science Associates Inc. to increase its support of Petrobras' emergency preparedness for spill response and modeling.

In the new step, Petrobras has commissioned a dedicated ASA staff to be on-site and on-call continuously for the next two years

"Our new arrangement with Petrobras represents a dedicated strategy by an energy company to be a world leader in their commitment to emergency readiness to minimize environmental impact in the case of an emergency spill scenario or well blowout," says Eduardo Yassuda, who heads ASA South America.
