Offshore bulk discharge and storage tanks are typical applications for one manufacturer's line of automatic valves. They are especially designed for on-off and control applications that involve cement, bentonite, or barite -- which cause wear in conventional butterfly types. Larox valves are engineered to deliver 100 percent tight shutoff, full bore, no jamming or scaling, simple construction, and low maintenance cost. Rigs and offshore installation drilling facilities install the bulk discharge valves and storage tank ventilation valves. Typical sizes are 125 and 150-mm valves with pneumatic actuation for on/off and control with local operating possibility.
