HOUSTON, June 16 -- Epsilon Energy Ltd., Concord, Ont., signed an exclusive study agreement with the Ministry of Mines & Energy covering 96,233 sq miles in northwestern Ethiopia.
The 1-year agreement covers an area previously unexplored for oil and gas. The block lies northwest of Addis Ababa and partly along the borders with Eritrea and Sudan.
Epsilon plans to use Landsat or SPOT imagery and gravity and magnetic surveys to identify sedimentary basins with oil and gas potential.
At the end of the study period Epsilon will have the right to negotiate an exploration agreement by obtaining a concession or concessions.
