Safety products: Multi-gage tool reduces likelihood of electrical shock

Safety products: Nonconductive Tools Company’s Voltclaw Multi-Gauge tool provides electricians and DIY's with the safest, fastest way to manage the most common sizes of electrical wires installed in residential and commercial systems.

An essential safety tool, the Voltclaw Multi-Gauge is non-conductive to 1000V, making it a far safer alternative to metal screwdrivers or wire strippers for the grabbing, pulling, pushing and bending of electrical wires found inside of junction boxes, switch boxes and service panels. It delivers peace-of-mind, even when navigating around wires in the most crowded boxes.

With no metal parts, the new tool will not cut or scrap the insulation off of electrical wires which can create a potential shock or fire hazard. Its lightweight, compact design is exceptionally convenient to carry, therefore encouraging electricians to use it whenever a wire needs to be moved, rather than endangering themselves with a metal tool or their hands.

WHY THE VOLTCLAW?
Industry best practices call for electricians to always treat every wire as though it were still live, even after the circuit has been shut off. The fact is, circuit breakers can be turned back on accidentally while the electrician is working, especially if proper lockout/tagout procedures are not in place. Also, the wrong circuit can be turned off, a dangerous but common occurrence with homeowners.

All electricians, whether they work in industry, for commercial businesses, or in residential settings, are exposed constantly to the danger of electricity. Electricians account for about 7 percent of total deaths in the building trades, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, electrocuted while trying to fix wiring, appliances, light fixtures, air conditioning units, and underground power lines.

UNMATCHED VERSATILITY
The Voltclaw Multi-Gauge delivers unmatched versatility with a sliding wire gripper optimized for a secure grip on almost wires ranging in size from 6 to 14 gauge. The user simply inserts a wire into the front hook and slides the thumb slide forward to grip it. Now the wire can be pushed, pulled or bent precisely into place. It also features two pull hooks, one on the front and one on the back, to handle both small or larger wires., along with a V-groove for pushing wires back into junction boxes. Deep finger grips ensure a safe grasp with greasy or gloved hands.
