Safety equipment: WRS Environmental Services Inc., a provider of environmental services, commissioned its new URBAN X Hydro and Air Vacuum Excavator. This new, one of a kind truck offers greater safety, efficiency and productivity in sensitive construction, underground utility applications and is presently being used extensively in New York City. The URBAN X is designed to better navigate more than 10 million miles of buried utilities in the US, no matter the location, soil condition or regulatory requirements. E.g., Low decibel operation and diesel exhaust emission standards.

Designed to use air or water, or a combination of both, this high-tech vacuum excavator quickly and safely excavates to locate underground utilities and other assets. At the same time, the URBAN X Vacuum System removes debris as fast as it’s excavated. Fully integrated on a Cat CT660 chassis, the URBAN X is ideal for digging in urban settings or otherwise tight working conditions. It is by far the most efficient and dependable machine on the market today.

“WRS utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technologies as well as a highly trained workforce to provide customers with quality workmanship, innovative and customized turn-key solutions,” stated WRS CEO, Michael Rodgers. “The addition of the new URBAN X Hydro and Air Excavator to the WRS fleet will allow us to better serve our clients by offering increased production in the field, leading to cost effective solutions.”

“This truck will give WRS the ability to run air, hydraulic or electric tools utilizing unique truck features at the same time we are performing excavation work,” continued Rodgers. “All of these extras allow WRS to be more efficient and productive for our customers.”

In addition to its highly productive digging capability, the URBAN X provides expanded functionality including a self-contained power plant to support a variety of electrical, air and hydraulic tooling, including coring equipment. Water capacity of the URBAN X is 600 gallons with debris capacity of 6 yards.

“In the past, you would need multiple pieces of equipment and larger crews to accomplish what can be done with one truck and an operator. I am proud that WRS is the only company to invest in this cutting edge technology and continues to be the leading solution provider for our customers,” said Rodgers.

WRS Environmental Services Inc. is the leading provider of environmental, utility and industrial services for more than 20 years. Using state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained professionals, each year WRS responds to more than 1,500 environmental emergencies and incidents, disposes of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, provides vacuum services, that include vacuum excavating, and handles asbestos, lead and mold abatement and remediation.
