Work gloves: Four models improve grip, increase cut protection

Work gloves: Ergodyne introduces its updated and refreshed ProFlex® Dorsal Impact-Reducing (DIR) Series Gloves. Included are four models that offer patent-pending protection schemes, as well as technology enhancements to improve grip, increase cut protection and provide additional warmth in cold weather applications. The updated ProFlex® models include:

• 924 Hybrid Dorsal Impact-Reducing Gloves
• 925F(x) Standard Dorsal Impact-Reducing Gloves
• 925CR Performance Dorsal Impact-Reducing Gloves + Cut Resistance
• 925WP Performance Dorsal Impact-Reducing Gloves + Thermal WP

In addition to these four DIR Series models, the ProFlex® 760 Impact-Reducing Utility Gloves have also been added to Ergodyne’s Trades Series as a part of this launch. Each DIR Series model features molded rubber armor and a technical segmented foam protection scheme to minimize the effects of pinches, impacts and crushing or bruising blows without losing dexterity. Reflectivity, a hi-vis color scheme for signaling and hand safety awareness, and a reinforced thumb and index finger wear area come standard on most models.

“We’ve long been at the forefront of new technology DIR gloves,” said Andy Olson, associate product director, Ergodyne. “These next-generation work gloves represent a huge step forward in the quest to combat impact-related hand injuries in the world’s toughest applications.” In addition to superior back-of- hand impact protection, enhancements can also be found throughout the series with a focus on improved performance, including:

• Abrasion-resistant Tena-Grip™ palm reinforcements for superior gripping power and durability while still maintaining softness and flexibility. (924; 760 Trades)
• Abrasion-resistant non-slip gripping dot palms on hi-vis AX Suede™. (925F(x); 925CR)
• Full Armortex®-backed palms for enhanced cut, slash and puncture protection. (925CR)
• Two-layer AX Suede™-reinforced palm with wet gripping material that stays flexible in cold temps. (925WP)
• Dual-zone 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation and a waterproof insert membrane. (925WP)

As with our redesigned Trades Series, enhanced features are indicated through a convenient color-coding system designed into each model. Orange indicates standard protection; red signals enhanced cut protection; and blue stands for thermal cold weather protection. This makes it easier for distribution to group gloves by function during display, for safety managers to identify the gloves being worn with what function and for wearers to distinguish gloves by feature across the full Ergodyne multi-series lineup.

“On the heels of the ProFlex® Trades update, the stakes and protection level have been raised with these new DIR Series options,” said Tom Votel, president and CEO, Ergodyne. “From a complete overhaul of the tried-and- true 925F(x) glove to the addition of an Impact-Reducing Trades option, our commitment to heavy-duty hand protection has never been stronger.”
