Safety products: Weather forecasting services keep communities safe

Safety products: Schneider Electric and PlanetRisk recently joined forces to better protect communities from the effects of unpredictable and severe weather by now offering improved weather forecasting services through collaboration and shared resources. Planet Risk will incorporate Schneider Electric’s weather forecast information into its Advanced Intelligence Management System™ (AIMS). AIMS improves safety and ability to mitigate risk through transforming vast amounts of complex, open source and proprietary data into actionable intelligence. Assets are visualized on a single screen and monitored in real-time, monitoring facilities, employees, products, and suppliers.

With the new partnership, PlanetRisk clients will be able to visualize severe weather affecting their communities directly within AIMS. The integration of Schneider Electric weather ensures the best intelligence in the industry, as their forecasts have been independently rated the industry’s most accurate by ForecastWatch for nine consecutive years.

“The recent partnership between Schneider Electric and PlanetRisk will help clients more effectively identify and assess incidents and threats by providing the weather intelligence needed for rapid, accurate decision-making,” said Jon Reifschneider, general manager of the weather business at Schneider Electric.

"PlanetRisk is excited to partner with Schneider Electric to provide our customers advanced weather services as part of our AIMS™ platform," said Jim Stokes, Chief Analytics Officer for PlanetRisk. "Together we are able to provide value to our clients with timely and high-quality weather reporting so they can prepare, respond and mitigate."
