transmission and distribution Hendrix Kerite

Transmission and distribution: During the IEEE PES T&D Conference and Exposition being held May 2 through 5 in Dallas, Hendrix and Kerite will demonstrate their extensive portfolio of products and capabilities for electrical transmission and distribution. At booth #2051, representatives from Hendrix and Kerite will provide expert guidance on aerial spacer cable, polyethylene insulators and high-voltage (HV) cable for a range of T&D applications, and will discuss the company’s design, engineering and installation consulting services.

A superior alternative for 15kV to 69kV overhead conductor installations where reliability is a concern, Hendrix Aerial Cable Systems (ACS) is the ideal solution for long spans, or in environmentally sensitive areas, heavily wooded installations and in other challenging applications. For power systems exposed to falling trees, heavy ice and damaging storms, Hendrix ACS is designed for strength, featuring three covered conductors supported by a heavy gauge messenger wire.

Hendrix lightweight molded polymer products withstand weather extremes, resist damage from impact, and are excellent alternatives to heavy porcelain insulators. All Hendrix HPI Insulators are manufactured in the USA from a proprietary blend of track resistant, high density polyethylene. Tie Top, Vise Top, Line Post and Universal Tie Top Insulators are tested in conformance with ANSI C29 specifications. These light weight insulators exhibit superior electrical and mechanical performance over wet process porcelain, offering greater leakage distance and higher flashover and impulse values. The vandal-resistant insulators won’t chip, crack or break, and are Green recyclable.

Engineered for the longest service life of any power transmission cable, Kerite high-voltage underground and subsea cable products come in voltages from 46kV through 138kV. The most flexible in the industry, Kerite HV cable guarantees superior performance, with a proven track record of lowest cost of ownership on power lines within substations, substation getaways, subsea, refinery and other industrial applications.

To help customers decide the best products and strategies for high-voltage T&D installations, Kerite Cable Services (KCS) offers comprehensive engineering, installation and maintenance consulting services. The company acts as a single point of contact for services from procurement through installation and acceptance testing, delivering project management, site surveys/system layout, custom cable designs, cable installation, splicing and terminating, system testing, and complete project documentation.
