Safety products: Exelon and Bridge Energy Group present grid security health check webinar

Safety products: BRIDGE Energy Group, in partnership with Exelon, has announced its cybersecurity and compliance best practices webinar for utility organizations. Titled, “A Grid Security Health Check - Utility Cybersecurity and Compliance Best Practices for your IT/OT,” the complimentary event is an informative, online discussion detailing North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standard compliance and analysis of threats facing a utility’s cyber assets. Attendees may register for the January 12th, 12 PM ET webinar at:

Presented by Energy Central, the webinar will be hosted by Scott Neifert, Manager CIP Information Security & Compliance, Exelon and Richard Jones, VP of Grid Security, BRIDGE Energy Group. The online event is a must-attend resource for any utility professional concerned with grid security. Attendees will learn:

· The elements of the grid security process and technology stack.
· To use compliance as a means to improve the security posture.
· How to meet NERC CIP deadlines and maintain a secure grid.
· To build a model that operationalizes new compliance and security activities at transmission and substation facilities.

“Today’s utilities are a mix of multi-vendor, legacy and new technologies and associated processes,” Jones said. “Enhancing protective measures for these assets-at-risk by the April 1 compliance deadline and then sustaining the appropriate posture to meet the evolving cybersecurity and NERC CIP requirements is a boardroom level concern at most utilities today. It is important to get it right.”

This new webinar event is designed to provide insight and guidance at this critical point in the utility’s journey to a secure and compliant grid.
