Our technicians are equipped with a sophisticated, non-invasive resistograph drill that uses a non-boring drill bit to evaluate the entire width of the pole at ground level, on several coordinates, without damaging the pole. Resistance to the drill bit is measured by the resistograph, and this information is used to determine the condition of the wood.
The drill’s data is sent wirelessly via bluetooth to a tablet running Alamon’s proprietary testing software algorithm. The algorithm is based on RUS Bulletin 1730B-121 and instantly converts the data into the most accurate assessment of the pole’s condition available in the industry today.
