transmission and distribution Kerite

Transmission and distribution: Kerite, a manufacturer of high-quality insulated utility and industrial power cable, is showcasing its High Voltage (HV) cable and Kerite Cable Services (KCS) at POWER-GEN 2014.

Founded in 1854, Kerite is a subsidiary of Marmon Utility, a Marmon Wire and Cable/Berkshire Hathaway Company. With the recent appointment of Greg Smith as president of the company, as well as the appointment of a number of other key upper managers – among them Peter Ebersold as vice president of marketing and Tanya Lauer as vice president of sales of Kerite High Voltage and KCS – Kerite strengthens its leadership as a global competitor in the field of underground transmission and distribution power cable, and is well prepared for a strong future in the industry.

In addition to presenting its new brand image at POWER-GEN this year, Kerite will be featuring its industry-leading underground and subsea HV cable products. Kerite HV cable comes in voltages ranging from 46kV through 138kV for power transmission applications, and is engineered for the longest service life of any transmission cable. As the most flexible cable in the industry, Kerite HV cable guarantees rapid, trouble-free installation in the field, and is perfect for power lines within substations, substation getaways, subsea cable, and power to refineries and other industrial applications.

Visitors to the Kerite booth (number 3081) at POWER-GEN 2014 will also find information on Kerite Cable Services (KCS), the comprehensive turnkey solution for high-voltage installation projects. Going beyond the best cable in the industry, KCS offers customers a single point of contact from procurement through installation and acceptance testing. Services include, but are not limited to, project management, site surveys and system layout, custom cable designs, cable installation, splicing and terminating, system testing, and complete project documentation.

“We’re very excited about where we are as an organization,” says Smith. “The recent new energized activity around the brand, with the new leadership team focusing our efforts, and looking to leverage our rich history into a strong future, has positioned us very nicely – really second to none in the industry. And we’re encouraged by the solutions we can offer to utilities and industrial facilities.”
