Sycamore, IL — Safety products: IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. brings enhanced safety to contractors with its 61-685 Infrared (IR) Thermometer, the non-contact way to capture the surface temperature of electrical breakers, mechanical equipment, and building systems from a distance, allowing preventive diagnostics to be performed while machinery and circuits are in operation.

The IDEAL IR thermometer lets contractors measure live circuits or moving parts from a comfortable distance to create a safer work environment. With its one-handed operation, the 61-685 is one of the simplest but most accurate IR thermometers on the market today, as well as one of the most affordable.

Completely portable, the 61-685 delivers performance characteristics typically found in more expensive thermometers. In addition to its 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio, it provides a wide temperature range of -76°F to 932°F, and a built-in laser pointer to identify the center of the measurement area. Adjustable emissivity enhances accuracy of its readings on reflective or non-reflective surfaces. Maximum, minimum, average and differential temperature readings are instantly displayed on its backlit LCD to allow for quick action. Plus, an operator can program high and low temperature points with audible alarm warnings that are activated when the temperature exceeds an established point.

Along with electrical troubleshooting and general maintenance applications, the 61-685 is an excellent solution in the HVAC, health and safety, and process control fields. To add to its versatility and value, a built-in socket supports Type K thermocouple probes allowing obstructed areas to be reached.
