The next generation of Telvent’s weather monitoring and forecasting software, MxVision WeatherSentry Online, will soon be enhanced with new capabilities—including future lightning forecasts, tablet optimization and improved storm reports.
New Features Boost Safety and Increase Mobility
Telvent’s weather service is one of the first to offer future lightning, enabling customers to better visualize where lightning may strike in the next hour through a color-coded map, demonstrating the probability of lightning strikes. Unlike other’s predictive lightning methods, which rely on hardware in a pre-defined area, Telvent’s future lightning shows users exactly where lightning has struck and where it is headed. Knowing exactly where lightning is can be the critical difference for users, whether planning for crews to respond to power outages or the safety of participants at a sporting event.
As users increasingly use iPads, Kindles and Android tablet devices to access the Internet, Telvent’s next generation of MxVision WeatherSentry Online automatically detects if a user is accessing the service via a tablet and optimizes the interface and the browsing experience accordingly for users on the go.
The latest version of MxVision WeatherSentry Online will also feature local storm information enhanced with reports of severe weather and damage submitted by spotters, media and emergency personnel. This data can be overlaid with other layers such as radar and warnings.
