Fluor Celebrates 20 Years of Irving Oil Alliance

Fluor Corporation recently celebrated 20 years of providing engineering, procurement and construction support services for Irving Oil Ltd. Fluor's personnel are integrated with the Irving Oil team working on site at Canada’s largest refinery. Around 100 projects are carried out each year by the joint site team with an execution capability of up to $300 million annually. The team has saved more than $100 million through value creation efforts over the past 13 years and has worked more than seven years without a single recordable incident.


Moving Mountains

B&G Crane Service LLC used it’s 300-ton capacity Hydra-Slide HT300 remove and replace five exchangers in a recent power plant project. The HT300 was used to slide the old exchangers, weighing 49,000 lbs. and 59,000 lbs., a distance of 60ft before repeating the process in reverse with the replacement units that weighted 58,000 lbs. and 66,000 lbs. The entire process was completed in four, 12-hour shifts. Extreme safety measures and OSHA specifications were used from start to finish.  

  B&G utilized a 300-ton capacity Hydra-Slide HT300 heavy-track hydraulic skidding system.

Quality Accreditation Award

QA Weld Tech, a leading welding and engineering company in the UK, has secured a world leading quality standard becoming - to its knowledge - one of first businesses in Teesside to secure the accreditation. Based in Middlesbrough, the welding and engineering experts were presented with the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 accreditations only four months after kick starting the process to secure them and – alongside this – have also been boosted with the successful retention of a number of other quality standards. The 9001:2015 standard is the most rigorous quality standard introduced to date and, as such, companies across the UK have been given up to three years to implement the systems needed to secure it.


Advisian to Grow Infrastructure Business with Key Professional Advancements

Advisian, the technical and management consulting division of WorleyParsons, has appointed Adam Boughton to the newly created role of Regional Director Infrastructure, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Reporting to EMEA Managing Director Adrian Smith, Adam will serve as a member of the EMEA Leadership team and will focus on growing Advisian’s Infrastructure business across in the region. Also joining Advisian in the Dubai office, and supporting Adam, is Kaniz Samir-Mostaffa, Regional Infrastructure Business Development Manager, EMEA. Kaniz is joining Advisian from her role at AECOM as a Regional Business Development Manager, Strategy and Growth, EMEA. She has significant experience developing strategies to ensure that clients can achieve their goals through a collaborative approach focusing on the full lifecycle of project delivery.


Specialist Well Abandonment Company Bolsters Management Team

A specialist well abandonment company, Well-Safe Solutions will help oil and gas operators to meet the challenges of safe and cost-efficient decommissioning of subsea wells. Following the recent announcement of the company’s first acquisition and appointment of chief executive officer, Phil Milton, Well-Safe has bolstered its team of experienced experts with the appointments of Graeme Murray as legal and commercial director and Glenn Wilson as chief technical officer (CTO). With a planned £200million investment and to create 400 new jobs, the start-up company is offering an integrated P&A (plug and abandonment) capability from front-end engineering and design to project execution. Well-Safe Solutions has been set up by Alasdair Locke, Mark Patterson and Paul Warwick.

MSubsea Achieves ISN Approval in U.S.

MSubsea, the global independent provider of ROV services focused on reducing costs and risks to meet the demands of the low oil price environment, has secured the seal of approval from ISNetworld (ISN) in the US for its Safety Management System. Following an evaluation of the company’s internal system for managing its health and safety, MSubsea met the required standards from the global leader in contractor and supplier management. ISN is an internationally recognized resource for connecting companies with safe, reliable contractors and suppliers and is designed to meet internal and governmental record keeping and compliance requirements. It measures key performance indicators among workers in meeting industry needs and regulations.


Suretank Strenghtens Leadership Team

Suretank Latin America, a leading provider of engineered solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, has announced the appointment of Paulo Fernandes Gurgel as Senior Consultant. In this newly created role, Gurgel will head up the company's operational cost savings program, Suresave, providing strategic support and advice to customers to help improve efficiency of their operations, and deliver value added propositions with immediate impact on cash management.
