The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management reports that, "By the end of 2015, the U.S. Department of the Interior awarded 11 commercial leases for offshore wind development that could support a total of 14.6 gigawatts of capacity."
Offshore wind power has the potential to contribute to clean, affordable and safe energy in coastal states and beyond. Realizing the potential of offshore wind power in the U.S. will require community, government agency and regulatory support, as well as a deeper understanding of offshore wind technology, benefits and costs.
The 2017 Offshore Wind Executive Summit: The Parallels of Wind, Oil and Gas is the perfect place to learn more. The summit will bring together decision makers from wind power and offshore oil and gas, both from the U.S. and Europe. Using many of the same technologies—design, foundations, vessels, cabling and a highly skilled workforce—offshore O&G experts play an important role in the advancement of U.S. offshore wind. The Offshore Wind Executive Summit will provide the forum to establish new business relationships. Educate yourself on the current market including project development, important policy issues and the complicated supply chain. This event will give attendees the chance to develop what is necessary to advance the U.S. offshore wind industry.
Join together with wind energy and oil & gas professionals at the summit on August 9-10, 2017 in Houston at the Norris Conference Centers Houston/CityCentre. The two-day summit will feature dynamic speakers from Siemens, Bentley, Trelleborg Offshore, U.S. Department of Energy, Statoil and DONG Energy to name just a few.
