Samson Resources' Tulsa headquarters lays off one-third of the workforce

Samson Resources Corp. on Thursday confirmed that it has laid off 66 employees at the Tulsa Headquarters and 70 overall.

 

Tulsa, Ok - Samson Resources Corp. on Thursday confirmed that it has laid off 66 employees at the Tulsa Headquarters and 70 overall. 

In the fall of 2016 Samson employed about 200 poeple at the Tulsa headquarters and close to 400 emplyees companywide.

The shale oil and gas driller, Samson Resources Corp, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2015 as it had $4.2 billion in debt.  The company plans to continue repayment of debts with creditors as agreed upon in the Chapter 11 plan.
