Tulsa, Ok – The University of Tulsa and the Public Service Company of Oklahoma has entered the first-of-its-kind partnership in Oklahoma to utilize solar energy for the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The University of Tulsa in 2015 was added to the Princeton Review’s Guide to 352 Green Colleges: 2015 Edition.  The University continues to add to its leadership in green technology with the construction of a solar array to power the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.  The 300-kilowatt solar panel array is owned and maintained by PSO and The University of Tulsa leases the panels from PSO.  There are 936 solar panels in an alternating pattern with half facing east and the other half facing the west.  Micah Burdge Customer Service Engineer at American Electric Power says, “the solar panels are arranged from east to west on a fixed tilt to maximize energy production throughout the day.”  The solar panels are low profile and cannot be seen from street level.

The University of Tulsa continues to be a leader in sustainability with the addition of the solar array on the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.  The Public Service Company of Oklahoma is also leading the way for sustainability and will continue to seek new partnerships like the one it has forged with The University of Tulsa.
