The state Division of Highways says Antero Resources will make the contribution for repairs to West Virginia Route 74 north of Pennsboro in Ritchie County.
Work began this week on a $3 million project to fix about 9 miles of State Route 74. The project includes paving and repairs that are expected to be finished by Nov. 18.
Division of Highways spokeswoman Carrie Jones says the route is one of many in northern West Virginia that can't withstand the increased volume and weight of truck traffic for natural gas extraction operations.
Antero is one of several companies using the route.
