WASHINGTON (AP) — The leader of the United Nations will visit a District of Columbia public school while he's in Washington for an international climate conference.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to tour Brookland Middle School on Thursday. The school has sustainable features, including a green outdoor classroom, geothermal heating and cooling and rooftop solar panels.

Ban and District Mayor Muriel Bowser will take questions from students at the school, and city officials will brief the secretary-general on their efforts to build environmentally friendly schools.
