“Patricia Voss’ technical experience and regulatory perspective will assist the NRC in carrying out its mission of protecting people and the environment and ensuring the safe operation of the Cooper Nuclear Station,” said NRC Region IV Administrator Marc Dapas.
Voss joined the NRC as a reactor engineer in 2007, after participating in a student internship with the agency. For the past five years, she has served as the Resident Inspector at the Monticello nuclear plant in Minnesota. Voss graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in nuclear engineering and radiological sciences.
Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant has at least two NRC Resident Inspectors. They serve as the agency’s eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Voss joins NRC Resident Inspector Chris Henderson at the site.
