The plant is expected to be in commercial operation by the third quarter of 2017. The natural gas-fired cogeneration facility will provide up to 33 megawatts of primary power supply as well as process steam to augment the existing steam supply for refinery process units. Power technology incorporated in the cogeneration plant, including a GE LM2500 turbine engine, will be state-of-the-art for efficiency and low emissions.
