BOSTON (AP) — A delegation of Massachusetts energy experts is heading to Switzerland for a forum intended to showcase the newest technologies and encourage the sharing of ideas.

One goal is to help the state push ahead in developing renewable energy sources. The focus of the event — billed as the 2015 Swiss-U.S. Energy Innovation Days in Zurich — is integrated building systems.

Organizers say the aim is to explore and identify research projects for universities and companies as well as economic opportunities in both countries. Participants in the event, which begins Sunday, are being invited to make policy recommendations to the Swiss and U.S. governments.

State Sen. Marc Pacheco is leading the delegation.

The Taunton Democrat said he hopes brainstorming sessions can help the state expand its renewable energy economy.
