Dominion, SCC want rehearing on transmission line

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Dominion Virginia Power and state regulators want the Supreme Court of Virginia to reconsider a recent ruling involving a proposed high-rise electrical transmission line over a historic section of the James River.

Dominion and the Virginia State Corporation Commission said they issued a notice of intent to file for rehearing Monday in the James River case.

The high court ruled earlier this month that local approval is required for a switching station that is a key element for the proposed line.

Opponents celebrated the decision, but stopped short of saying the ruling would kill the project.
