Tall Oak Midstream begins STACK gas processing system

Tall Oak Midstream announced it is constructing its Tall Oak Sooner Trend, Anadarko Basin and Canadian and Kingfisher counties natural gas system.

Tall Oak Midstream, which formed in February 2014, announced it is constructing its Tall Oak Sooner Trend, Anadarko Basin and Canadian and Kingfisher counties (STACK) natural gas system. The system is for gathering and processing natural gas from shale plays in Oklahoma and Mississippi, according to a Tall Oak press release.

The STACK system will initially utilize 150 miles of high- and low- pressure natural gas pipeline, compressor stations and the Chisholm Plant, which will be located in Kingfisher County. The Chisholm Plant will be a cryogenics facility that can at first process 100 million cubic feet per day of natural gas. After the STACK system is expanded, the plant will be able to process 400 MMcf/d of natural gas. The company expects the plant to be commissioned in the second half of 2015.

Tall Oak has gathering and processing contracts with Felix Energy, LLC and PayRock Energy, LLC to supply natural gas to the STACK system. Together, Felix and PayRock control more than 100,000 net acres of land within the STACK play. According to PayRock's website, the company focuses on production in the Sooner Trend play, but also has the potential for more than four horizontal drilling plans in the STACK play. Felix is currently focusing on two oil plays within the Anadarko Basin, its website stated.

Tall Oak's additional plans
Tall Oak is also building a natural gas gathering and processing system for the Central Northern Oklahoma Woodford (CNOW) play, according to the release. The Tall Oak CNOW system will use 250 miles of natural gas pipeline and the Battle Ridge cryogenic process plant located in Payne County.

The company began construction in the summer of 2014 and expects the Battle Ridge facility to be ready by the end of January.
