The Coombeshead solar farm near Devon in the U.K. has been sold by Green Hedge, formerly known as AEE Renewables, to Belltown Power. The solar project's plan was approved by the South Hams District Council in May following a reduction in the size of the plant.
Belltown Power will finish construction of the solar project and operate the farm once it is completed. Connection to the grid is expected by March 31, 2015, according to the Torquay Herald Express. The solar project is anticipated to have 7.86 megawatts net solar capacity.
"It is always a pleasure to take on a project that has been developed as professionally as Coombeshead, and by a developer who shares our belief in the importance of community engagement and good ecological management," said Belltown Business Developer Manager Paul Hewett, according to the Torquay Herald Express.
The company will also establish the Diptford Community Fund, which will be used to aid fuel and energy challenges in the area. Coombeshead solar farm will contribute more than $104,000 to the fund and more than $3,000 to the fund's grant-providing panel.
