CB&I wins 760 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant contract

CB&I (NYSE:CBI) has been awarded a contract by Calpine Mid-Merit, LLC, an affiliate of Calpine Corp., for the initial development phase of a combined-cycle gas turbine power station in Peach Bottom Township, Pennsylvania. The 760 megawatt unit will be built adjacent to the existing York Energy Center.

"CB&I has a legacy of successful combined-cycle gas turbine projects and is proud to partner with Calpine on this important project," said Patrick K. Mullen, President of CB&I's Engineering, Construction and Maintenance operating group. "We look forward to helping Calpine meet the growth in energy demand with new clean, affordable and reliable power generation."
