Universal AET opens new office in Houston Universal Acoustic & Emission Technologies is expanding its integrated silencing, emissions and air filtration system solutions to the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Chemical Processing industries with the opening of a new sales office in Houston, Texas.

The Houston office is located within the city’s Energy Corridor. Universal AET is already a significant supplier to the these growing industries, with system solutions and products used on or within drilling platforms, gas compression stations, on-site power generation equipment and processing plants. With business in these three industries – particularly, the natural gas sector – booming in Texas, Mexico, Central America and South America, an office close to where much of the business is conducted allows Universal to provide better service to these markets.

“Having Houston as a sales base will make doing business within the Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Chemical Processing markets much easier not only because Texas is home to many companies in these industries, but also due to major business growth south of the border,” said Alfonso Canedo, General Manager of Universal AET’s Houston office.

Universal AET plans to add more employees in Houston over the next year as the office grows, and is currently recruiting sales and engineering professionals.

The Houston office celebrated its grand opening with an event at TopGolf in Houston on May 6, which coincided with the 2014 Offshore Technology Conference that ran May 5-8. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, leading oil and gas firms, construction and fabrication solutions industry, and many others attended. Guests came from the U.S., Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. The Offshore Technology Conference, at which Universal AET was an exhibitor, draws more than 100,000 people to Houston each year.
