Nordex has announced orders for the supply of 132 megawatts of wind turbines for renewable energy projects in Germany for the first quarter of 2014. The wind turbine manufacturer received orders for its N117/2400 wind turbine model from PNE Wind and BOREAS Energie. These recent orders have pushed Nordex to more than 1 gigawatts of installations and projects for its N117/2400 turbine. Sales of the N117/2400 model helped the company reach the top 10 largest wind turbine manufacturers in 2013, according to wind industry research firm BTM Consult.
"We are thrilled to be able to continue the success that we achieved in Germany last year," Nordex board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard said in a statement. "After doubling our market share in 2013, we are now headed for a double-digit figure this year."
The company also remarked that it has sold four N117/3000 turbines to project developer Denker & Wulf for the Sehestedt wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein in Germany.
Nordex said it will install and grid connect its new wind power projects by the end of the year.
