Basin Transload announces agreement to build new oil pipeline in North Dakota

Basin Transload announces agreement to build new oil pipeline in North Dakota Basin Transload LLC, a subsidiary of Global Partners LP, has executed an agreement with Tesoro High Plains Pipeline Company LLC to build, own and operate more than four miles of pipeline. Tesoro High Plains Pipeline System moves crude oil produced in the Bakken Shale/Williston Basin areas to other facilities through approximately 700 miles of pipeline.

The new pipeline will transport crude oil from Dunn Center Station to Basin Transload's facility in Beulah, North Dakota.

The companies expect transportation of the crude oil will begin by the end of 2014. The supply will not only increase Basin Transload's volume but also provide the ability to resource a larger region. It will also increase the ratability of the Beulah facility. Currently, the Beulah location connects to the West and Gulf coast via long-haul service by BNSF.

In March 2013, Global Partners LP announced an agreement with Tesoro Logistics, the owner of Tesoro High Plains Pipeline Company, to create a seven-mile pipeline from Lignite, North Dakota, to Basin Transload's Columbus, North Dakota plant.
