Construction work carried out by BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH (BayWa r.e.) at the Forest Heath solar power farm near Cambridge is now complete. The 4.8 MWp plant, with on-site grid connection, was commissioned on the February 4.
Around 19,000 polycrystalline modules were installed on the site, which extends to some 10 ha. Annual power generation is forecast to be 4.55 mill. kWh, which is enough to supply around 1200 households with green energy.
To date, BayWa r.e. has installed solar farms with an overall capacity of 42.2 MWp and wind farms of around 45 MW across Great Britain and has a significant pipeline of projects at various stages of development.
