Merichem names Dayong Dong as Chief Representative for China

Since 2009, Merichem’s Shanghai rep Office has been staffed with local technical services, support and office personnel.

Merichem Company, a worldwide leader in hydrocarbon cleaning technology and byproduct management services named Mr. Dayong Dong as the company’s Chief Representative based in the Shanghai Representative office replacing Mr. Robert Hennekes who returns to the USA in a business development role supporting the Merichem Process Technologies business unit. In addition, Mr. Ryan McCool joins the Shanghai Rep Office in a sales role after relocating from the company’s Schaumburg, Illinois office.

According to Patrick J. Hickey, Merichem President and CEO, these changes reflect the company’s continuing commitment to the region with local technical, sales and business support. “Since the office opened in 2009, we have expanded our local capabilities to respond quickly to our customers’ needs with Merichem’s proven and unique technologies and proprietary equipment” said Hickey. “Mr. Dong’s knowledge of the local market and technical expertise will further grow our local support capabilities to the next level.” Mr. Dong brings over 16 years cross-cultural experience in the engineering, refining and gasification industries to Merichem. Prior to joining Merichem, Mr. Dong held various positions at Sinopec, Pall, UOP and ConocoPhillips, both in China and in the US.

Since 2009, Merichem’s Shanghai rep Office has been staffed with local technical services, support and office personnel. Later this year, Merichem will add additional technical services engineers to expand its support for the Chinese market.

In 2011, the company opened Merichem Energy Technologies Shanghai Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Merichem. Mr. Dong will also serve as its General Manager. Through this new subsidiary, Merichem distributes its proprietary chemicals to Chinese clients, and envisions local manufacturing and other possible ventures in the near future. Merichem began offering its services to Chinese companies in 1994 and has licensed over 50 units within China.
