Merichem sells joint venture ownership in Merisol to Sasol


Merichem Company, a global partner serving the oil and gas industries with focused technology, chemical, and service solutions, announced today that it sold its interest in Merisol to Sasol Holding USA (Pty) Limited. Merisol was created in 1997 as a 50:50 joint venture between Merichem and Sasol. Merisol, which is now wholly-owned by Sasol, is a world leader in the production of phenolic products, including phenol, cresols, cresylic acids and their derivatives.

Ken Currie Chairman of the Board of Merichem Company said: “The sale of our interest in Merisol will allow Merichem to increase our focus on our core Technology and Services businesses.” “We appreciate the fine partnership we have enjoyed with Sasol and take satisfaction from the success of Merisol to date.”
