KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., the corporate and investment banking arm of KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY), recently announced the addition of David Lucke and David Banmiller as managing directors and Nicholas Stuart as vice president to its oil & gas group in Houston. KeyBanc Capital Markets opened its Houston office in December 2011 under the direction of Sylvia Barnes, managing director and head of the oil & gas group.

“We established a Houston presence last year to meet the growing needs of energy companies in the oil & gas sector,” said Ms. Barnes. “Given continued robust M&A and capital markets activity, we have deliberately added to the expertise and experience of our team with several strategic new hires. We are confident these additions will enhance our competitive position and our ability to successfully address the needs of our oil & gas clients.”

Mr. Lucke brings over 20 years of industry experience in exploration and production, midstream and oilfield services. He joins from a private upstream oil & gas company, where he served as chief financial officer for two years. Prior to that, for seven years he was a managing director in the oil & gas group at Jefferies & Company/Randall & Dewey. Mr. Lucke’s broad experience in investment banking includes numerous advisory and capital markets transactions, including IPOs, secondary offerings, convertible offerings, investment grade and high yield offerings, structured finance, private placements of debt and equity and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. He is a certified public accountant and earned his MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, and his BA in Political Science & Economics from Duke University. Mr. Lucke is also a member of the board of directors of GMX Resources Inc.

Mr. Banmiller joins KeyBanc Capital Markets from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Houston, where he served as director of investment banking and managed client relationships, both U.S. and international, in the upstream, midstream and oilfield services sectors within the energy and power group. While at Bank of America Merill Lynch, Mr. Banmiller successfully advised clients on public debt and equity offerings and on raising private capital. Before Bank of America Merrill Lynch, he was a vice president at Bank of America N.A. in Dallas where he led the underwriting, structuring and syndication of senior bank debt for large corporate clients. Mr. Banmiller received his MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BS in Accounting from Santa Clara University.

Mr. Stuart was previously a vice president at Stifel Nicolaus Weisel, a regional brokerage and investment banking firm, where he executed advisory and capital markets transactions in the energy group. Mr. Stuart earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Virginia and BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a certified public accountant.
