Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT: BKR), announced today that it has established a new office in Canton, Ohio, in support of its Utica/Marcellus Shale initiative and growing client base across the region in Eastern Ohio.

“Opening the Canton office allows Baker to provide both staff and services more efficiently to current Shale clients in eastern Ohio,” said Baker’s William Lindenbaum, P.E., P.S., office manager. “It will facilitate growth in the engineering market in eastern Ohio supplementing established Baker engineering practices in Cleveland and Columbus.”

“With nearly 1,000 professionals based in offices across the entire Utica/Marcellus Shale region, Baker is well-positioned to provide a considerable range of services including surveying and geospatial, well pad design and permitting, pipeline and facilities design, roadway rehabilitation support, and construction management/construction inspection services,” added Christine S. Mayernik, P.E., PMP, vice president and regional operational manager of Baker’s Shale services. “The new Canton office further demonstrates our commitment to the region and support of companies engaged in this game-changing industry.”

The new office is located at 101 Cleveland Avenue, Suite 106, Canton, Ohio 44702. Office contact numbers are 330-453-3110 (phone) and 330-453-3621 (fax).
