Flow-Cal announces energy sector investments

Flow-Cal, Inc., the market leader for pipeline measurement data management in the natural gas and petroleum liquids sector is announcing several recent investments in response to a surge in industry activity spawned by the North American gas and liquids shale plays.

The flourishing U.S fuel market has been experiencing a significant upsurge due to the increased accessibility of liquid-rich shale formations. This substantial increase in energy recovery efforts has subsequently increased the activity associated with the gathering, transportation, storage and refinement of the recovered liquid products. With product movement and custody transfer of these products, the importance of accurate and auditable measurement information is at an all time high. Flow-Cal’s existing customer base is expanding their use of the Flow-Cal systems, and a steady stream of new customers are demanding rapid implementations to meet their measurement needs. Flow-Cal is responding to the needs of both its established and new customers by investing heavily in products, employees, organization, and infrastructure.

Significant features and functionality have been added to the FLOWCAL Enterprise Gas and Liquids systems over the last several years. Product investment includes the ability to handle all aspects of liquids measurement including the management of batches and tickets associated with salt domes, storage tanks, trucks, and railcars.

The increased industry activity has also necessitated the expansion of Flow-Cal’s headcount and organization in order to scale with the welcomed growth. Additional programmers, support and services personnel have been added to the team, as well as several key managerial promotions. These changes include a Professional Services Organization to meet the increased demand for upgrades and new implementations.

“These recently implemented efficiency modifications have positioned Flow-Cal to better accommodate the unprecedented industry growth,” explains Mike Squyres, Flow-Cal President. “As the Company forges ahead to stay aligned with the industry, we will continue to provide our customers with a solid product line, and dedicated support, development and managerial teams.”

Finally, with the growth in staff and demands for additional relevant training, Flow-Cal has nearly doubled its office space square footage to accommodate existing and future growth. The new, larger headquarters will accommodate Flow-Cal’s growing staff, as well as include several modernized training and meeting spaces, and easier building accessibility. The new spacious facility is located at 2525 Bay Area Blvd., Suite 290, Houston, 77058.
