SolarMax Technology Inc. is aggressively growing its retail business and plans to open five office branches in Southern California including in Orange County and the Inland Empire by the end of December.

“We plan to open five branch offices by the end of the year,” said David Hsu, SolarMax Technology Inc. President. “So far we have opened an office in Temecula and one in Orange County; we’re now looking at Corona and Simi Valley.”

The residential and commercial solar power systems provider plans to have 25 retail locations throughout Southern California by the end of 2012.

“We’re looking at Los Angeles County as well as the OC and the Inland region,” Hsu added. “Solar power is affordable and opening these retail shops will help spread that knowledge to both commercial and residential markets.”

The company’s expansion plans include growing its presence in China. SolarMax recently inked a deal for a $150 million contract for a solar power system covering 10 million square feet of a rooftop at an airport in Shanghai. That system will provide 35 Megawatts of power.

“The sun is always shining somewhere,” Hsu joked. “So being a global business just made sense for SolarMax.”
