Diamond Power International, Inc. (DPII) announced the launch of its new HydroJet®–Retractable (HydroJet®-R) boiler cleaning system – the next generation in furnace wall cleaning – at the COAL-GEN 2011 Conference & Exhibition in Columbus, Ohio.

“This fully-retractable cleaning system is the first of its kind,” said Mark Bunton, General Manager of Controls, Diagnostics and R&D for DPII. “It provides up to three times more cleaning coverage per device over conventional furnace water cleaning systems, with the ability to reduce water consumption up to 70% and improve plant heat rate.”

DPII has been an industry leader in boiler cleaning technology and innovation for more than a century. The company pioneered on-line boiler cleaning in the 1920s, and designed the world’s first sootblowing system. With this newest system, DPII offers a purpose-built design that delivers the most-advanced water cleaning system technology, and provides a safer environment for routine maintenance.

Traditional water cleaning devices rotate 90 degrees in each axis – but with the patent-pending articulating nozzle assembly of the HydroJet-R cleaning system, it is capable of cleaning more surface areas including adjacent walls, floor, ceiling and hopper slopes because of its full 180 -degree rotation, both horizontally and vertically.

When the HydroJet-R cleaning system is at rest, it is fully retracted so vital hardware is shielded from the furnace environment, maintenance personnel are not exposed to high temperatures during online servicing, and its modular components allow for quick exchange.

The HydroJet-R system is designed to be integrated with Diamond Power’s existing SentrySeries® intelligent control system, which provides customers adaptive capabilities and the best solutions for sites that require variable boiler loading or fuel switching.
