Building Turbines, Inc. (Pinksheets:BLDW), a developer and manufacturer of commercial building rooftop mounted horizontal axis wind turbines, reported that their units installed in Corpus Christi, Texas, operated effortlessly in the gusty winds of Tropical Storm Don Friday evening.

"This is exactly what our wind turbine units are designed for," said Greg Miller, Chief Business Development Officer, Building Turbines, Inc. The patented Building Turbines design captures the concentrated vortex formed as wind comes flowing over building's windward parapet wall to produce electricity. During Tropical Storm 'Don,' which made landfall Friday evening, the storm lasted for several hours before fully dissipating early Saturday morning.

Building Turbines placed team members on site in Corpus Christi during the storm, and also monitored the wind turbine systems from their headquarters in Austin, TX via live data and video feeds. "We are anxious to verify the turbines real-world performance in a variety of geographic locations, wind environments, and installation types," said Mr. Miller, who was also on site in Corpus Christi. "Tropical Storm Don provided an excellent demonstration of the viability of our rooftop mounted wind turbine design. We are confident that by providing reliable, safe, and cost effective rooftop renewable energy turbine solutions, we will accelerate the use of this largely under developed rooftop real estate for building owners all over the world."
