Flow-Cal, Inc., the industry leader in software development for measurement data management, is pleased to announce the release of the much anticipated FLOWCAL Enterprise version 8. The latest release of Flow-Cal’s flagship project, FLOWCAL Enterprise, incorporates liquid measurement and gas measurement in a single consolidated system.

Developing a liquid measurement system is a logical move for Flow-Cal, as the company is the recognized leader in the natural gas measurement market. Adding liquid measurement functionality to FLOWCAL Enterprise automates the validation process for batch and ticketing in an Enterprise-level liquid application. This advanced liquid system allows importing and storage of hourly data as well as reporting batch totals, validating data on import and edit, scheduling batches and applying up-to-date liquid analysis while maintaining an audit trail that meets API 21.2 requirements.

The initial project, backed by midstream giant DCP Midstream (NYSE:DPM), has been in production for their company since 2009, operating with more than 45,000 active meters. With additional enhancements requested by ExxonMobil Corporation’s Liquid Pipeline and Chemical division as well as Williams Midstream, FLOWCAL Enterprise version 8 has become the most advanced and robust off-the-shelf liquid measurement system available.

Other companies signing on for the latest release of FLOWCAL include El Paso Pipeline, which has selected the product to replace a legacy system, plus several long-time Flow-Cal customers, such as Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Chesapeake Operating, Inc. Existing customers are eager to upgrade and experience the value added to the new release.

“We have had so much involvement from the measurement community for FLOWCAL version 8 and have full confidence in the product we released. The industry was in need of a system to support both gas and liquid measurement and we are excited to see the continued growth and development of the application,” states Randy Herman, Flow-Cal’s Vice President of Product Development.

More notable features for Enterprise version 8 include the addition of an extended analysis (handling over 200 components) plus the ability to edit liquid data at an hourly, daily, monthly or batch level basis. The “Systems” function has been added to combine numerous measurement areas into a single database. This consolidation allows the user to create multiple secure environments with independent configuration in the same database. Additionally, the combined gas and liquid functionality enables the user to perform a complete and comprehensive system balance.
