Chevron taps Dril-Quip for subsea wellhead equipment at Big Foot in the deepwaters of the GOM

Dril-Quip, Inc. (NYSE:DRQ) has been awarded a contract by Chevron (NYSE:CVX) to supply drilling equipment for the Big Foot Tension Leg Platform (TLP) to be installed in the Big Foot field located in the Walker Ridge area of the Gulf of Mexico. 

Dril-Quip will provide subsea wellhead equipment and specialty connectors and tubulars for the Big Foot TLP. 

Dril-Quip is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered offshore drilling and production equipment which is well suited for use in deepwater, harsh environment and severe service applications.

Located about 225 miles from New Orleans, the $4 billion Big Foot development involves the construction and installation of a dry tree extended TLP with an on-board drilling rig and 15 well slots. With a daily capacity of 75,000 barrels of oil and 25 million cubic feet of natural gas, the Big Foot TLP will be located in 5,200 feet of water on Walker Ridge 29.
