CEC to hold evidentiary hearing for proposed 624MW Oakley CCGT project

The California Energy Commission committee reviewing the proposed Oakley Generating Station Project in Contra Costa County will hold an evidentiary hearing Friday, March 25, 2011. Proceedings will begin at 10 a.m. PST, in Hearing Room A at the California Energy Commission, located at 1516 Ninth Street, Sacramento, California. The public is invited to participate. 

The Oakley Generating Station Project is being proposed by Contra Costa Generating Station, LLC, a limited liability corporation owned by Radback Energy, Inc. The proposed 624-megawatt project is a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle electrical generating facility. The project is located on a 21.95-acre site in the city of Oakley in eastern Contra Costa County.

Arrangements have been made for people unable to attend the hearing to participate:

The purpose of the evidentiary hearing is to establish the factual record upon which the Commission will decide the case, based on written or documentary evidence from the official parties to the proceeding. 

After the hearing, the committee reviewing the project will consider the recommendations presented by staff, applicant, intervenors, government agencies, and the public prior to proposing its decision to the full five-member Energy Commission for deliberation and final consideration.
