Wood Group's Alliance Engineering has been awarded a contract for the engineering and design of an additional electric motor-driven compressor and associated equipment at Transco's Station 125 in Monroe, Ga. The work is associated with Transco's Mid-South Expansion Project of its natural gas pipeline system, the first phase of which is scheduled to be placed into service in the fall of 2012.

The design for Station 125 includes a Dresser compressor, driven by a Siemens electric motor. Alliance's contract also includes procurement support services. Alliance expects to complete the engineering and design in the fall of 2011.

"Alliance is pleased to be working with Transco to provide high-quality solutions for this engineering project," says Edmund Hugo-Lunde, president of Alliance. "We take great pride in providing high-quality fit-for-purpose engineering and design services, and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Transco."
