Indian engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced it has secured a Rs 1,100 crore (US$242 million) order from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) for development of a 375-megawatt (MW) gas-fired power plant in Dhuvaran, India on an EPC basis.

L&T won the order under global competitive bidding against stiff competition from Domestic and International power plant equipment manufacturers.
L&T will design and commission the 375 MW power project on a turnkey basis. The plant will utilize advanced gas and high-efficiency steam turbines from German based Siemens AG.

L&T-Sargent & Lundy, a subsidiary of L&T, will carry out the plant integration and detailed engineering, using propriety technology of Sargent & Lundy LLC, USA. L&T will design and manufacture critical equipment for the plant, like heat recovery steam generator, de-aerator, condenser, cooling tower, switchgear and valves. Project management, construction, installation and commissioning will also be carried out by L&T.
