Statkraft subsidiary to invest US $400MM in Cheves hydropower plant in Peru

Statkraft has through its subsidiary SN Power decided to invest in the Cheves hydropower plant  in Peru. The investment is expected to amount to USD 400 million, approximately NOK 2,350 million. The construction will begin in 2011, and is expected to be finalized at the end of 2013.

The hydropower plant will be fully owned by SN Power and will have an installed capacity of 168 MW.

Statkraft holds an ownership share of 60 percent in SN Power, and Norfund the remaining share.
